The collection consists of 12 models with hand-guilloché and diamond-set dials, each corresponding to a specific constellation.
As one of Geneva's most prestigious watchmakers, it's no surprise that Vacheron Constantin ventures into the world of handcrafts (known in the industry as "métiers d'art"). One of Vacheron Constantin's recurring themes is the 12 Chinese zodiac signs, which have been presented in various ways over the years, whether through annual Chinese-themed watches or astronomical complications. This year, as part of its 270th anniversary celebrations, Vacheron Constantin presents a series of 12 watches that combine technical expertise, craftsmanship and hand-decorated dials of the 12 Chinese zodiac signs and their associated constellations. This is the Métiers d'Art "Homage to the Celestial Bodies" collection.
All 12 watches, one for each constellation, share the same base and movement, differing only in the pattern of the dial. The case is crafted in 18K white gold, with an elegant 39mm diameter and a thickness of 10.7mm. The case is set with 96 baguette-cut sapphires (approx. 3.87 carats) on the bezel, lugs and crown, complementing the blue theme of the collection. The entire collection is inspired by a single watch created in 2021 by Vacheron Constantin's Les Cabinotiers workshops - the Minute Repeater Tourbillon Sky Chart Leo Jewelry Watch.
These dials are an ode to constellations and the zodiac, and a tribute to the exquisite and rare craftsmanship of the Vacheron Constantin watchmaking factory. All 12 dials are made of 5N gold with a deep sky blue and sun-brushed surface. They are decorated with hand-guilloché zodiac signs and their corresponding constellations, and the main stars are embellished with brilliant-cut diamonds. In addition to the guilloché, the four constellations representing people (Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius and Aquarius) are also decorated with opal details. The guilloché technique goes beyond traditional abstract and repetitive patterns and transforms traditional crafts into a figurative art form. The technique involves creating a large number of hand-guilloché triangles composed of dense straight lines. You can choose from Aries, Taurus, Gemini, Cancer, Leo, Virgo, Libra, Scorpio, Sagittarius, Capricorn, Aquarius and Pisces.

Inside the case is the famous high-end movement, the 2160. This in-house movement features a peripheral rotor, which keeps the movement thin while also making it only 5.65 mm thick. The movement beats at 2.5 Hz and is regulated by a one-minute tourbillon, which sits below a hand-polished tourbillon stem and Maltese cross-shaped tourbillon cage. The movement is hand-finished and engraved with the Poinçon de Genève, with Côtes de Genève embellishments on the bridges, circular-grained balance wheel and polished screws. It has a generous power reserve of 80 hours.
The Vacheron Constantin Art Master Series "Tribute to Celestial Bodies" watch uses a dark blue crocodile leather strap lined with crocodile leather and a white gold folding clasp inlaid with 16 baguette-cut sapphires.
